TOTW Predictions - Week 14
Goalkeeper
Lukas Kruse - GK - 68 OVR
Kruse was amazing at the weekend and although he conceded he saved a penalty as well as making a total of nine saves. He claimed the top rating on Kicker alongside claiming player of the week.
Defenders
Naldo - CB - 70 OVR
No this is not the Wolfsburg Naldo it is in fact Getafe's CB. Getafe upset Barca in order to hold them to a 0-0 draw, the player I originally wanted to select was not in the game (Valaquez) however I can't see Getafe not receiving an IF this week so I have gone with the second best alternative with Naldo who was outstanding at the centre of defence for Getafe.
Víctor Ruíz - CB - 79 OVR
Defenders were really hard to select this week with Ruiz being no exception, I was struggling to find someone to fill this slot until Villarreal managed a 1-0 away win at Atletico Madrid. Ruiz claimed a 7 rating from Marca which is why I have selected him this week.
Mehdi Benatia - CB - 84 OVR
Benatia scored and kept a clean sheet as Munich continued their dominance with a 4-0 away win against Augsburg. Robben was the MOTM however I can't see a TIF this early
Midfielders
Giacomo Bonaventura - RW - 79 OVR
Bonaventura had a brilliant game for Milan as he was involved in both of Milan's goals in their 2-0 home victory against Napoli. Bonaventura ended the match with a goal and assist which in such a big game should be enough see him in.
Stefano Mauri - CM - 78 OVR
Mauri scored Lazio's first and second goals as they demolished Atalanta 3-0 in a game which could have easily been 6 or 7. Mauri was not given MOTM from my usual source however I feel he will be in EA's TOTW. Alternatively I wouldn't be surprised to see Nainggolan
Juan Mata - CAM - 85 OVR
Yes De Gea was outstanding and fully deserved his MOTM from the game however I feel that it is too early for a TIF card this year. I do however believe there will be a United player this week for their 3-0 win over Liverpool. Mata is the man I have selected after his goal and assist however Carrick is also in with a chance after his brilliant display in defence.
Idrissa Gueye - CM - 76 OVR
Gueye claimed two assists in Lille's 3-0 home win against Toulouse in order to claim L'equipe player of the week. Ligue 1 was poor for selections this week butI believe it will be either Gueye or Sankhare that makes the cut.
Sofiane Feghouli - RM - 81 OVR
Despite marca giving Feghouli a disappointing 7 I feel he has still done enough to make the team this week with La liga not having many options this week. Feghouli scored twice for Valencia as they cruised to a 3-0 win.
Roberto Firmino - CAM - 81
Firminho scored once and assisted another to claim a perfect 1 rating on Kicker. Hoffenheim won the game 3-2 which makes Firminho's contribution very important.
Forwards
Olivier Giroud - ST - 79 OVR
Although I wanted Cazorla from Arsenal there was a severe lack of striker this week so I have given Giroud the nod. Giroud continued his brilliant form against Newcastle as he put another two past them at the weekend. as they won 4-1
Substitutes
Tom Heaton - GK - 72 OVR
Yet another upset as Burnley managed a 1-0 win against Southampton who are struggling with form as of late. Heaton saved a Tadic penalty, which was the first in 24 that Southampton have missed before Burnley went up the other end to score just minutes later. Heaton made a total of five saves which although De Gea is everyone's prem keeper this week I feel will be enough. Multiple other keeers could also make the cut such as: Unnerstall and Kobras who both saved penalties this week.
Christian Kabasele - CB - 67 OVR
I seem to curse the Belgian league with selections as when I select them they always seem to be snubbed by EA. Hopefully that will change this week after Kabasele claimed a goal and assist alongside keeping a clean sheet as Genk won 3-0.
Demarai Gray - LW - 62 OVR
Another English bronze and an expensive one at that. Gray scored a hat trick for Birmingham in their massive 6-1 win against struggling Reading.
Archie Thompson- LW - 66 OVR
Another A-league hat trick this week and this time it is for Melbourne as Thompson scored all three of Melbourne's goals in their 3-3 draw.
Centurión- LM - 74 OVR
Centurion scored the only goal of the game as Racing Club won 1-0 which was a game which won them the title. Club America also won the title this weekend however there is multiple players which could feature so I have left them this week.
Lima - ST - 78 OVR
Lima scored both of Benfica's goals as they increased their lead at the top of the table after a 2-0 away win against Porto. Who said I don't pick players from the Portuguese league.
Robert Berić- ST- 67 OVR
Beric scored two late goals for Rapid Wien as they managed to beat Salzburg 2-1 away from home. Seeing as there were no striker hat tricks this week I feel it will be enough for Beric to be in this week.
